6. Health and wellbeing

We want people with disability to:

A person pointing to themself with their hand raised. A heart icon with a medical cross on it is next to them.

  • be healthy

A smiling man giving two thumbs up.

  • enjoy the life they live.

Actions

A support hand icon holding a heart with a medical cross on it and a disability icon.

We will support health and disability support services to work together.

A person placing their hand on the shoulder of another person in a supportive way next to a hospital icon.

This will make sure people with disability keep getting support.

This includes when they are in hospital.

A shield with a tick on it with a question mark next to it. There is a caution symbol beside it.

We will work out what people with disability need to be safe when an emergency happens.

A glowing siren with an exclamation mark on it next to a caution symbol.

An emergency is something dangerous that:

  • we don’t expect to happen
  • can put your health or safety at risk.

To find this out, we will talk to:

A person writing in a book talking to a person with a disability.

  • people with disability

A person interviewing a mother holding a baby.

  • their family and carers.

A supportive hand holding a heart with a medical cross on it. There is an arrow pointing up next to it.

We will provide more health and wellbeing services for people with disability.

For example, drug and alcohol services.
